We've lived this. That's why we built this.
Every one of us at NFPGRP has been through a foreclosure with our own family, down to packing up and moving out after the auction. We know what those notices look like on the kitchen table. We know what it feels like to stop answering the phone. And we know how much clearer things get once someone sits down and explains, in plain language, what is actually happening and what can still be done.
“In the 2008 crash, my family spent more than $25,000 trying to save our home, and we still lost it. Years later, as an adult, I found out my parents could have fought the foreclosure themselves, and might have kept our home. We started NFPGRP so other families learn their options while there is still time to use them, before they hand thousands of dollars to people who promise to save their home.”
When you work with us, you upload your court documents. Someone on our team reads what you send, tells you where you stand in the foreclosure process, and points you toward the department or person who can actually help. We also pull the standard forms homeowners typically need to file for your county, plus a library of videos and government resources other homeowners have used. We are not attorneys, and this is not a legal service. You decide what to do next, yourself or with an attorney of your choosing.
NFPGRP is an educational platform. Nothing on this site, from our team, or from any tools we provide constitutes legal advice, and using our services does not create an attorney-client relationship. We exist to be a source of truth so you can make informed decisions about your own situation.
How we create our guides
- Plain language first. Our guides are written for homeowners, not lawyers, and explain legal and lending terms the first time they appear.
- Built on official sources. We link to HUD, the CFPB, and other government resources so you can check what we say for yourself.
- Honest about what varies. Foreclosure rules differ by state. We explain how things generally work and tell you who can answer for your specific situation.
- Kept current. When a rule or program changes, we update the affected guide and show the date it was last updated at the top.
- Education, not legal advice. We are not attorneys. Nothing we publish is legal, tax, or financial advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
